Walker County Alabama, is prominatly located on the I - 22 Corridor (Corridor X) just northwest of Birmingham.

While the highway does not yet connect directly to the Interstate Highway system in Birmingham, it has been completed from just outside the city limits of Birmingham all the way to Memphis, Tennessee. When the interchange, which is currently under construction, is completed, the Corridor can officially take its designation as Interstate 22.
